All Tails SXM was created from a lifetime of love, compassion, and dedication to the animals of St.Maarten
Growing up on the island, I was surrounded by the reality of stray and vulnerable animals. Dogs wandering the roads. Cats tucked under cars. Birds, turtles, and countless small creatures simply trying to survive.
From as early as I can remember, my instinct was always to help.
Feeding strays, rescuing injured animals, joining local efforts, and volunteering wherever I could — it became a part of who I am.
But this wasn’t something I learned on my own.
It was something taught to me, every day, by my mother.
A Legacy of Kindness🌺
My mother has spent her entire life caring for the island’s animals. The beautiful soul that she is, feeding strays before sunrise to rescuing the injured and comforting the forgotten. She raised me with the belief that every life has value, that every creature deserves care, and that kindness is not something you talk about —it’s something you do.
All Tails SXM is, in many ways, an ode to her:
to the way she loves, the way she nurtures, and the way she inspires compassion in everyone around her.
Her heart shaped mine.
And her heart continues to guide this charity.
I love you mama
A Mission Built on Love
After decades of volunteering, rescuing, fostering, and helping organizations across St. Maarten, I knew it was time to finally create something of our own — something that honored the past, protected the present, and built hope for the future.
That moment came because of one very special cat.
🐾 OUR INSPIRATION: Poe’s Story
Every charity has a spark, a moment, or soul that changes everything.
All Tails SXM is dedicated to every animal on the island, but it is also dedicated to my mother, who taught me compassion, and to Poe, who showed me what unconditional love truly means.
Together, they shaped this mission.
Together, they shaped me.
And together, they will continue to guide everything we do.
For All Tails SXM, that spark was Poe, (also known as Poey, Bird Bones, Poeseph and Poey Gonzalez)
How Poe Came Into My Life
During COVID, someone found a tiny, sick kitten in a cemetery. They actually thought he had COVID since he was so weak, sneezing, and barely holding on. They brought him to me to help, and I eventually nursed him back to health.
He grew strong.
He grew loving.
He grew into my shadow, my companion in every chapter of my life.
Poe traveled the world with me. There wasn’t a country I went to without him coming with.
From Sint Maarten, to Spain, the United States, and many adventures in-between, he made countless friends — such as Coco, Miso, and Cleo.
Everywhere he went, he made a home.
A Short Life, But a Life Full of Love
As he grew older, we found out Poe had FIV, and eventually, he developed cancer. Despite everything, he stayed gentle, brave, and loving until the very end.
Before he passed, we took him to the park so he could feel the grass under his paws again. He explored quietly, the wind ruffling his fur, the sun warming his back.
He sadly passed away in September 2025 at only five years old. He passed peacefully, on my balcony, under the sun and in the breeze, so his soul could drift upward, carried gently to the sky.
Why Poe Is Our Mascot🐈⬛
Poe didn’t just inspire this charity,
Poe made me finally create it.
His life taught me:
that abandoned animals can become family
that love heals
that the vulnerable deserve protection
and that even the smallest creature can change everything
All Tails SXM exists because of him.
Because he mattered.
Because every animal does.
All Tails SXM is dedicated to every animal on the island and all of the paws that touched my heart, but it is also dedicated to my mother, who taught me compassion,
and to Poe, who showed me what unconditional love truly means.
Together, they shaped this mission.
Together, they shaped me.
And together, they will continue to guide everything we do.
